Our impact

Fundamental research to change lives

The Wound Innovation Institute drives world-leading discovery and applied research to transform the prevention and treatment of chronic wounds.

It builds on our interdisciplinary research into skin health and wound healing, working with industry and the NHS. Our new facilities provide a national hub where current and future researchers can develop life-changing treatment for patients in need.

The Institute is unique in the UK, fostering national and international collaboration and funding bids, and driving innovation in wound treatment, an area too often overlooked.

Advancing wound care through partnerships

Partnerships are at the heart of all we do at the Wound Innovation Institute. We will continue to build new collaborations with industry, academia, health practitioners and policy-makers to advance better care solutions and outcomes for patients.

From high quality discovery research, through proof-of-concept to clinical trials and real-world compliance, we collaborate with business, sharing research expertise and cutting-edge facilities to support every stage of the innovation journey.
