About Eleanor Carrick

Eleanor Carrick is a Lecturer in Marketing, Management and Business Strategy at the University of Hull and Programme Director for the undergraduate business programmes delivered through the University's partnership with Chongqing Technology Business University. In this role, she provides academic leadership and supports the development of high-quality learning experiences for business students across the partnership.

Eleanor teaches across a range of disciplines, including Innovation Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management and Dissertation Supervision. Her teaching is informed by a commitment to developing students' critical thinking, professional capabilities, and understanding of contemporary organisational challenges. She is particularly interested in helping students connect academic theory with real-world business practice and graduate career development.

Her research interests span higher education, employment and employability, graduate employment and employability, careers, leadership and management, and feminism. Her work explores the experiences of students and graduates as they transition into employment, the evolving nature of careers and career development, and the role of leadership and management within contemporary organisations. She also has a particular interest in feminist perspectives on work, education, and organisational life.

Through her teaching, programme leadership, and research, Eleanor is committed to enhancing student success, supporting graduate outcomes, and contributing to a deeper understanding of the relationship between higher education, work, and society.
