Study how people think, decide, and lead. Explore motivation, teamwork, and consumer behaviour – and discover how psychology shapes success in business.

Hull’s been teaching Psychology since 1928 - and our Business School holds prestigious AACSB and AMBA accreditations, earned by fewer than 2% of business schools worldwide. Together, they’ll help you understand both the science of the mind and the strategy behind great organisations.

Our experts explore everything from leadership and change management to what drives employee engagement and customer loyalty. Want to understand what makes people – and businesses – thrive? This is where it starts.

About this course

Explore the powerful connection between psychology and business. On this innovative degree, you’ll study how people think, feel, and behave - and how those insights can be applied to management, marketing, leadership, and workplace culture.

You’ll cover the core areas of psychology - including cognition, social behaviour, personality, and research methods - alongside key business topics such as leadership, organisational behaviour, marketing, and human resource management. It’s the perfect choice if you’re interested in how psychology drives success in business, or if you want to build a career that blends people skills with strategic thinking.

Real-world application is built into every stage of the course. You’ll explore how psychological theory translates into effective business practice - from understanding consumer behaviour to improving employee wellbeing and performance. This multidisciplinary approach develops the analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills that employers look for across industries.

You’ll learn from experts in both psychology and business, gaining a unique perspective on how people think, lead, and perform at work. In your final year, you’ll put that knowledge into practice through an independent research project, investigating topics like motivation, leadership, or organisational change to prepare you for your next step in business or postgraduate study.

Understand people, transform business

Module options

Each year, you’ll study modules worth a certain number of credits, and you need 120 credits per year. Most modules are 20 credits – so you’ll study six modules each year. Some longer modules, such as a dissertation, are worth more. In these cases, you’ll study fewer modules - but the number of credits will always add up to 120. Some modules are compulsory, some are optional, so you can build a course that’s right for you.
