Take the first steps in your career at the University of Hull – one of the top universities in the world to study nursing according to the latest QS World University Rankings.
Adult nurses form the backbone of the NHS workforce. They work with the widest variety of patients and there are lots of opportunities to specialise, so the career prospects couldn’t be better.
And with our degree, you’ll be hands-on from day one with your time split 50:50 between learning on campus in our award-winning medical facilities and putting your skills into practise on placement at a range of local and regional health providers.
About this course
At Hull we don't just teach the theory. We go beyond the classroom, in simulated operating theatres, hospital wards and intensive care facilities, as well as on clinical placements.
You’ll learn to provide care to adults – of different ages and with a range of health needs – and gain an extra dimension to your nursing experience.
You'll gain the skills, experience and support to become a confident and compassionate professional health practitioner and you'll be able to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a qualified registered nurse when you graduate.
Plus, students studying this course will also receive a payment of at least £5,000 a year. This doesn't need to be paid back and is in addition to any financial support received through your student loan.
Want to change lives? Let's start with yours.
Module options
Each year, you’ll study modules worth a certain number of credits, and you need 120 credits per year. Most modules are 20 credits – so you’ll study six modules each year. Some longer modules, such as a dissertation, are worth more. In these cases, you’ll study fewer modules - but the number of credits will always add up to 120. Some modules are compulsory, some are optional, so you can build a course that’s right for you.
