Dr Edward Hart

Edward is a qualified social worker with extensive experience in adult social care and social work. He currently lectures on Social Work Theory and Practice and Social Work with Adults. He recently completed a PhD as part of the University of Hull’s SPARC multimorbidity research cluster. His thesis, Ebb and Flow: Living a Life with Illness in a Remote Seaside Town, is based on an ethnographic study exploring the experiences of working-age residents living with multiple long-term conditions in a small coastal community. Alongside lecturing on the BA and Apprenticeships Social Work programmes, he is writing up publications from his thesis. Other research interests include, health inequality and wellbeing in connection with place and deindustrialisation, the human rights of adults in care settings lacking, or who have, fluctuating mental capacity.
