About Claira Fitzpatrick

Claira is a clinical lecturer on the Post Graduate diploma in CBT and is module leader and supervisor within this role.

She is a BABCP accredited CBT therapist, and EMDR therapist with Long Term Conditions Training and IAPT supervisor training. She has also previously been supervisor at The University of Sheffield.

Qualifying in 2015 as a CBT therapist, Claira has continued experience working and supervising in an NHS Talking Therapies service, and is domestic abuse champion for the service. She has a background working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and prior to this working in a forensic unit as a healthcare assistant.

She also has extensive voluntary experience with mental health organisations and is former Chair of a not for profit organisation which runs local support groups for people with OCD.

She has completed further training in Third Wave CBT (such as mindfulness and ACT) and also the OXCADAT top- up training course in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for PTSD.
