How we can help you
We aim to ensure that the learning environment is inclusive by design and benefits all students. However, we understand that some students may need further adjustments. Our team is here to discuss your individual needs. Tailored support options include:
- Identifying reasonable adjustments for lectures and exams
- Coordinating support with your academic department and university services, such as accommodation
- Access to a dyslexia screener and support with the diagnostic process
- Access to assistive technology programs
- Advising on applications for Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs)
Accessing support
We aim to make it easy for you to access the support you need. We'd recommend that you share any information about your disability when you apply to the university. As we are an inclusive university, we will always respond in a supportive and sensitive way.
Tell us about your needs
We’ll send you a questionnaire so that we can understand your needs. Be assured, you can get in touch for assistance at any point during your time at the university.
Personalised support
Our advisors will work with you to create an inclusive support plan that aligns with your studies, including help with the Disabled Students’ Allowance.
Adjustments review
We understand that health conditions can change, or that you may receive a new diagnosis. Your support plan can be updated at any time to reflect your needs.
Information for applicants:
Our Student Wellbeing and Inclusion team are available on Open Days to answer any questions about the support available at Hull. If you are thinking of joining us do get in touch to ask any questions you may have relating to your disability.
