The Library supports two student volunteering programmes: Library Volunteers and Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS).

Library Volunteers work with Library staff to support and add value to services provided by the Library.

What do Library Volunteers do?

What do PASS Leaders do?

PASS is based in a number of academic subjects across the University. PASS Leaders work in pairs to facilitate weekly study sessions for less experienced students.

  • Support less experienced students
  • Design learning activities to encourage student interaction
  • Use facilitation skills to help students find the answer themselves
  • Work with other PASS Leaders in subject area
  • Share your own study experiences
  • Use PASS techniques to get students talking
  • Do not teach – instead PASS Leaders use facilitation
