Collaborate with us

Bringing together organisations like yours with our best academic staff.

The University of Hull is committed to supporting businesses and boosting the region’s economy.

We do this by sharing the benefits of our world-class facilities and expert academic talent – the kind of talent that led to the development of liquid crystal display (LCD) screens, the technology behind bone density scanners, and ‘lab-on-a-chip’ micro devices.

Whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead for your business, there are proven ways that we can deliver benefits that will make a tangible difference to your bottom line.

But don’t just take our word for it. We have won a series of awards for our collaborations, including the Guardian University Award for ‘best business partnership’ in the UK.

Aura Combining academic expertise with energy industry know-how

Aura is an exciting collaborative initiative, led by the University of Hull. It brings together multidisciplinary excellence, knowledge and innovation for the offshore wind industry to ensure that the UK retains its position as a word-leading in offshore wind as well.

Last year, the University announced a five-year collaboration with Smith & Nephew to drive research into pioneering approaches to advanced wound care which sees a co-investment of around £3-million. The partnership is designed to bring together academia and industry – establishing a team of experts charged with developing scientific insights and innovative treatments that will benefit patients.

Knowledge partnerships

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a government funding programme which brings together go-ahead organisations like yours and our best academic staff along with a recent graduate, who is employed by the University but working for you. The KTP will transfer cutting-edge knowledge from the University into your organisation to make your concept a reality and leave you with an enhanced in-house research capability for your long-term benefit.

We work in partnership with private and public sector organisations to help support their goals and address their challenges with bespoke solutions. Through these partnerships we can help deliver efficiencies and drive innovative solutions. Our support can range from short consultancy projects to strategic co-development partnerships such as Aura. We can find a partnership mechanism to suit your needs, from a KTP to collaborative research.
