Humber Business Week showcases the wealth of talent, entrepreneurship, vision, and future potential of our region through a diverse programme of events.

Biz Week is a chance to share knowledge and gain a better understanding and insight into key regional business developments. The University of Hull is hosting a series of events throughout the week. Below are just a few of the sessions that may be of interest to you and your business.

  • TUESDAY 4 JUNE

    British Business Bank Breakfast  

    Venue: Aura Innovation Centre, Bridgehead Business Park

    Time: 7.30 am

    This event, hosted by the University of Hull’s Aura Innovation Centre, will provide valuable tips and insights into raising investment for your business. Hear authentic accounts from investors and founders about what went right and wrong in their journey, how they recovered, and what they learned from the experience. Book

     

    Arts and Heritage in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire: Bridging Divides through Knowledge Co-production

    Venue: Byron Conference Room, Canham Turner Building, University of Hull

    The University of Hull’s Dr Catherine Wynne and Dr Nicholas Evans are joined by Gillian Greaves (Arts Council England) and Jane Avison (Hull Culture and Leisure) to explore the co-production of knowledge between academics, communities, and arts and heritage organisations in the Humber region.     In this session, we will introduce the strategic level of HR for small organisations, highlighting the mission, values and defining the behaviours that bring these to life in your organisation.     Unlocking Nature’s Assets: How natural capital can help businesses become more economically and environmentally resilient

    Venue: Blake Conference Room, Canham Turner, University of Hull

    Time: 9 am

    Understand the value of natural capital on our doorstep - presented by the Hull and East Yorkshire Local Nature Partnership and the University of Hull. There will also be an opportunity to view local examples of natural capital as part of a walking tour of the Blue-Green Lab, demonstrating how local businesses and communities can thrive in the long-term using blue-green infrastructure.     Leadership Labs

    Venue: University of Hull Business School, Executive Education Suite

    Time: 12 pm

    The Leadership Labs are a set of workshops that provides an experiential component on a set of broad managerial and leadership perspectives, from early managers, middle managers and through to senior and executive management. Strong leaders need to know how to engage their employees to collaboratively solve business challenges and generate opportunities for their business. Book

     

    Let’s talk about AI

    Venue: Hull University Students’ Union, Student Central

    Time: 12 pm

    Explore the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace. We will hear from guest speakers Dr Aoife Curran, Teaching Fellow in Data Science and AI at the University of Hull, and Jags Sanghera, a Cyber Crime Protection Officer from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit.
