A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Hull gives you access to world-class knowledge, technology and skills to drive innovation, boost productivity, and gain a competitive edge.
Our partnerships have helped businesses develop game-changing products, streamline operations and expand into new markets - turning ideas into real-world success.

What is a KTP?
A government-backed programme, funded by Innovate UK, that helps businesses solve strategic challenges and grow.
Each KTP creates a unique partnership between a business and a university, enabling the transfer of knowledge, technology and skills otherwise inaccessible to companies. Tailor-made for your business, KTPs support innovation through new products, services, or process development.
A KTP is a three-way collaboration between a business, a university and a skilled graduate (KTP Associate).
- Business Partner – Gains access to university expertise to tackle strategic challenges.
- Academic Institution – Provides specialist knowledge and research insights.
- KTP Associate – A highly-skilled graduate or postgraduate - recruited by us - to manage the project in your organisation.

Smart health monitoring
This collaboration investigated the development of an intelligent hand-held, non-intrusive monitoring device for the care industry. Designed for the ageing population, it will empower carers and users to detect and prevent clinical incidents and/or limit their severity for the user.
The KTP partnership is an excellent route for industry-academia collaboration. It gave us access to get government funding for a focused project and helped the company transition from being a follower, to being a leaderPaul Bennett

KTP Partnerships - Wren Kitchens
Carbon mapping for sustainability
This partnership will create a unique supply chain carbon-mapping tool to help Wren Kitchens embed sustainability across its operations. It will allow customers to choose kitchen products based on their carbon footprint at the point of sale, supporting more sustainable consumer decisions. It will also help embed environmental sustainability knowledge, know-how and innovation from the University across their business.
The KTP is an exciting and challenging initiative, which I am eager to embrace and lead from a Wren perspective. It will guide our corporate strategy through specialist expert advice and will help us to deliver our Net Zero Carbon 2030 objective.Trevor Nixon
