About this course
Experience outstanding nursing education at the University of Hull, supported by our state-of-the-art health facilities and hands-on approach to learning. A recent £28 million investment in our campus ensures you have access to the latest simulation technology and real-world training environments.
Our children's nursing team is there to support you throughout your degree, and your course is divided equally between class-based learning and on mentored clinical placements to give you the unique, professional insight into the diverse care needs of both healthy and sick children, and their families.
Our degree is also approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), so you’ll be able to register as a qualified nurse when you graduate.
Discover more about health placements - learn why they matter, explore potential destinations, and hear first-hand feedback from fellow health students.
Don’t have the qualifications you need for this course? Our part-time, flexible University Certificate in Health and Social Care Practice has no formal entry requirements - and can open the door to a career as a nurse, midwife, operating department practitioner, paramedic, or social worker.
Want to change lives? Let's start with yours.
Module options
Each year, you’ll study modules worth a certain number of credits, and you need 120 credits per year. Most modules are 20 credits – so you’ll study six modules each year. Some longer modules, such as a dissertation, are worth more. In these cases, you’ll study fewer modules - but the number of credits will always add up to 120. Some modules are compulsory, some are optional, so you can build a course that’s right for you.
