About Professor Matthew Morgan
Matt became Dean of the School on 2 January 2024. Matt joined the School as Deputy Dean and Professor of Renal Medicine and Medical Education in February 2020. Matt has been an Honorary Consultant Nephrologist at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since February 2021 where he runs a specialist vasculitis clinic. He has also been a non-executive director at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since June 2020 as a stakeholder for the Medical School and Universities.
Previously Matt had previously worked as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Renal Medicine at the University of Birmingham and Honorary Consultant Nephrologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust from 2009. He was the deputy programme director for the medicine programme at the University of Birmingham as well as undertaking roles in post-graduate medical education and teaching across a range of clinical and non-clinical programmes. His main clinical and research interests have been in the field of ANCA vasculitis and inflammatory renal disease.
Matt is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
