About Laura Rusk
Laura is the Programme director for Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as of January 2026. She is also a Clinical Lecturer on the Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Serious Mental Health Problems, Diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner: Specialist Adult Mental Health courses. Laura joined the university in 2023.
Laura is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) working in the NHS and Private Practice. Laura is also an accredited specialist therapist for LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals. She qualified as a CBT Therapist in 2021 and has previous experience working in the NHS and HM Prison Service as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP).
Laura has experience working in mental health forensic units, community mental health teams and NHS IAPT Services. She is currently supervising trainee and qualified CBT therapists within the NHS, University and in private practice.
