About Kevin Christian

Kevin Christian is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of Hull, where he has served since 2019. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Nursing from Symbiosis International University, India.

Kevin brings extensive and diverse professional experience to his academic role. He previously worked as a Training Coordinator for the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), delivering training to more than 200 staff nurses. As an American Heart Association (AHA) Trainer, he has also provided BLS and ACLS training to doctors and nurses.

His academic leadership experience includes serving as Head of the Medical–Surgical Nursing Department at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University in India. In addition, he has international clinical experience as a Registered Nurse at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Gorleston, UK.

At the University of Hull, Kevin currently serves as the Intake Lead for the first year BSc Nursing (Adult) and Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship (RNDA) cohorts. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

He teaches across the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) and BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) Apprenticeship programmes. His teaching portfolio also includes delivering medical, surgical, and research modules to nursing students at Yangzhou University, China, as part of an international collaboration.

Kevin’s research interests include nursing simulation, nursing education, and clinical practice. He is particularly interested in developing a model to categorise individuals living with diabetes based on lifestyle modification behaviours.

He is currently pursuing a part‑time PhD at the University of Hull. His doctoral research project is titled “Assessing lifestyle modifications in type 2 diabetes: A categorisation model to enhance adaptation.”

Outside of work, Kevin likes to play cricket and is an active team member for Hull University Staff team.
