Summary

Ajitha is a registered nurse with experience in a variety of clinical settings including Critical Care, Coronary Care, Medical, and Surgical ward nursing and Community Nursing. She has also worked with clients with dementia and learning disability for a number of years. She continues to work clinically in a critical care environment to maintain her links and skills in practice.

She has completed her Masters in Advancing Professional Practice, and PGCE in Health care Education, and has been involved in a teaching role in a local NHS trust for a couple of years, before joining Hull University to pursue a career in academia. She is actively involved in various undergraduate Nursing modules and is keen to incorporate more simulated practice sessions into nurse education. She leads Practice 3 placement module for year 2 adult Nursing Programme and is the intake lead for the second year Adult Nursing Degree.

Her main interests are in critical care, diabetes, heart failure, palliative care, and dementia care.
