Our Energy and Environment Institute is tackling global environmental resilience and energy sustainability.
The Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) in offshore wind energy are developing a diverse range of future leaders for the sector, focused on maximising the potential of offshore wind and providing a pipeline of talented professionals. While our industry-leading Aura Innovation Centre combines research expertise and fresh ideas to enable businesses to reduce their carbon footprint.
Our work to build flood resilience has guided £5.2 billion in flood resilience funding, protecting 300,000+ homes, and our research has informed UK national flood policy.
We’re proud to lead a £2 million national network building flood resilience in the UK’s coastal communities in the COAST-R project, and as part of the Living with Water partnership, we’re working with communities to raise awareness of flooding and flood risk measures. The Risky Cities project builds on this work, engaging with communities to raise climate awareness and build flood resilience.
