THEME 1

Exercise, lifestyle behaviours and rehabilitation

By prioritising and promoting beneficial exercise and lifestyle behaviours in our research, we develop and deliver impactful solutions to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

THEME 2

Devices and digital technologies for health

Our strategy is to build up networks across the University and wider organisations to develop and deliver digital solutions for key health questions. We will map out current capabilities and work closely with other networks, both within and outside of ICAHR including the Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Modelling group (DAIM), to develop the best research in this rapidly changing area.

THEME 3

Global health and sustainable development goals

We promote interdisciplinary research across the University to co-create solutions to global health challenges, and we work in equitable partnerships to deliver research promoting the health and wellbeing of individuals in the Global South. Throughout our work, we aim to consider and deliver to the sustainable development goals of the University and our wider community.

THEME 4

Evaluation of interventions and care for policy and practice

The evaluation of interventions for policy and practice requires the development and implementation of randomised controlled trials and other methodological approaches to assess effectiveness.

We develop research collaborations across the University and wider organisations to address gaps in the evaluation of health and social care research. Our Methods Hub supports these approaches to ensure that our research is effective and makes maximum impact.

Cross-cutting themes and research infrastructure

Our research is underpinned by robust infrastructure and inclusive practices. From innovative methods to active public involvement, these cross-cutting themes support impactful, collaborative health research.
