From strength to strength, University of Hull tops Yorkshire universities for graduate progress

Career on Track, measuring graduate progress 15 months after leaving University relative to their expectations places Hull first in Yorkshire and 22nd out of 128 institutions. a year-on-year jump of 46 places.

Our ranking for High-Skilled Jobs, the number of our graduates in managerial or leaderships positions 15 months after leaving university, has soared from 85th to 45th.

The results showcase outstanding performance at subject level with Health Studies ranked first out of 33 institutions, Childhood and Youth Studies second out of 36, Nursing and Midwifery fourth out of 87, Education ninth out of 50, and Social Work joint ninth out of 52 institutions.

Professor John Craig, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) said: “Our rise in this year’s Daily Mail rankings is something the whole University community can be proud of.

"As prospective students make important decisions about their future, these results highlight the quality of the education and opportunities we provide.

"It is particularly encouraging to see recognition for the areas where we are making the biggest difference to our students, from graduate careers to teaching excellence, as well as the exceptional performance of a number of our subject areas.”

The University climbed 15 places in this year’s Guide to joint 33rd, its highest ever ranking.

Research Income, which relates to the money an institution brings in from external grants, contracts, and funding bodies to conduct academic research, has also shown strong progress, moving up 18 places to 31st, placing the University of Hull within the top 25 per cent of UK universities.
