The University of Hull is the top performing Yorkshire university for graduate employment according to new Higher Education Statistical Agency data.

The latest Graduate Outcomes data shows almost 95% of 2024 Hull graduates are now engaged in work, further study or other meaningful activity, such as travelling or fulfilling caring responsibilities. The data also shows that 72% are in graduate level jobs within 18 months of completing their degrees.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) John Craig said: “At the University of Hull we are proud to deliver excellent educational opportunities for all our students. Our courses provide the knowledge and skills to help graduates go on to have successful futures, be that in work, further education or by fulfilling other personal or family interests.

“These strong results highlight the sheer dedication and commitment of our entire community, who work tirelessly to ensure that the programmes we deliver meet the needs of our students. Through exceptional teaching and real-world experience, we are committed to equipping our students with the knowledge and skills that they need to become graduates who lead, innovate, and shape the future of business and society.”

Almost three-quarters of those graduating undergraduate programmes reported that they were using what they had learnt during their studies in what they were doing when surveyed.

The survey looks at what graduates are doing 18 months after they finish their studies, asking a range of questions – if they are in work, if they are undertaking further studies, how much they are earning and if they’re using what they learnt on their course.
