Why commute?
Living at home while you study can make sense for all sorts of reasons. You might want to save money, stay close to family and friends, or simply find that commuting works best for you.
But being a commuter student doesn't mean missing out on university life. Our 10-minute campus brings together teaching spaces, study areas, and social facilities, making it easy to make the most of your time on campus.
NEW FOR 2027
Our new free coach service will make it easier and more affordable to commute to Hull from North Lincolnshire. With regular services starting in 2027, it will have pick-up points at schools and colleges across the area, making it easy to plan your day.

LIFE ON CAMPUS
University life doesn't stop when your lectures and seminars finish. Our compact campus makes it easy to study, grab lunch, meet friends or get involved in clubs and societies between classes.
Leave books, sports kit and other belongings in secure lockers, available free of charge across campus.
Make your money go further by bringing food from home and making use of our student kitchen areas with microwaves, hot water and room to eat and relax.
Use the Brynmor Jones Library between classes, with thousands of study spaces and computers for individual or group work.
Grab a coffee or quick bite from the Pantry or SPAR or sit down for a meal with friends at Rosa's Pizzeria or Wetherspoons.
Join a society, attend events, try a new sport or catch up with friends. There are plenty of ways to get involved and meet other students.
SHORT STAYS
Got an early exam, a late-night event or a group project? Our short-stay accommodation gives you the flexibility to stay right here on campus.
Rooms start from £38.50 per night, including bedding, towels and Wi-Fi, and can be booked for one night or up to five days.
GETTING TO CAMPUS
How you travel to campus will depend on where you’re coming from. As well as our free North Lincolnshire coach, you can travel by car, bus or bike.
Student parking is available at the Wilberforce multi-storey car park, with electric vehicle charging points. Pay when you arrive with the RingGo app. Parking for Blue Badge holders is also available.

The free coach service is available to new and current University of Hull students from September 2027 and will run throughout term time and over the summer.
