Foundation

For Business, Law, Computer Science and Engineering courses:

Our Business, Law and Engineering foundation courses are run by our partner ONCAMPUS Hull. For further information regarding entry qualifications see the ONCAMPUS website.

For admission onto our foundation course we generally accept the following qualifications and grades:

Pass the HSSC or Intermediate Certificate with a minimum grade of 55% including maths if required

If your first language is not English, or you require a student visa to study, you will be required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency level. Find out more.

Undergraduate

For admission onto the first year of an undergraduate bachelors degree course we generally accept the following qualifications and grades:

Associate Degree (four semesters) with a minimum grade of 55%
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a range of 28 – 30
We also accept students who have completed a US high school curriculum.
We sometimes require subject specific grades, we will advise you of this in your offer letter

If you wish to study with us starting from the second or final year, we are happy to consider applicants who have completed equivalent prior study. These applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email global@hull.ac.uk for further details.

Postgraduate Taught

The majority of our taught Masters programmes require that you hold a qualification equivalent to a lower second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.2). Please check our course pages for specific entry requirements.

We generally consider the below, awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in Pakistan to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree.

Lower Second-Class (2.2) equivalent
4-year Bachelor Degree passed at 60% overall
3-year Bachelor (not Honours) + 1 year Master's passed at 60%
3-year Bachelor (Honours) - passed at 60% or better
2-year Bachelor + 2 year Master's at 55% or better over grade
Upper Second-Class (2.1) equivalent
Bachelor Degree passed at 72% over all.

Postgraduate Research

The majority of our research Masters programmes and PhDs require that you hold a qualification equivalent to an upper second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.1), although some programmes, especially PhDs may have higher entry requirements. Please check our course pages for specific entry requirements.

We generally consider a Bachelor degree of a minimum three years in duration, awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in India to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree.
