Foundation Year

Our Business, Law and Engineering foundation courses are run by our partner ONCAMPUS Hull. For further information regarding entry qualifications please see the ONCAMPUS Hull website.

For all other foundation courses we generally accept the following qualifications and grades:

Alberta: High School Diploma with a 60% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses numbered 30/31
British Columbia: Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma) with a 60% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses
Manitoba: High School Diploma with a 60% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses
New Brunswick: High School Diploma with a 65% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses
Newfoundland and Labrador: High School Graduation Diploma with a 65% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses
Northwest Territories: High School Graduation Diploma with a 65% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses numbered 30/31
Nova Scotia: High School Graduation Diploma with a 65% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 university preparatory courses (advanced or academic)
Nunavut: Secondary School Graduation Diploma with a 65% average across a combination of 5 Grade 12 academic courses numbered 30/31
Ontario: Secondary School Diploma with a 65% average across a combination of 6 Grade 12 U or M courses (to include no subject overlap.

We also accept students who have completed a US high school curriculum.

We sometimes require subject specific grades, we will advise you of this in your offer letter.

If you wish to study with us starting from the second or final year, we are happy to consider applicants who have completed equivalent prior study. These applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email global@hull.ac.uk for further details.

If your first language is not English, or you require a student visa to study, you will be required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency level. Find out more.

Postgraduate Taught

The majority of our taught Masters programmes require that you hold a qualification equivalent to a lower second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.2). Please check our course pages for specific entry requirements.

We generally consider a Bachelor degree of a minimum three years in duration, awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in Canada to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree.

Lower second-class (2.2) equivalent - GPA of 2.7 out of 4
Upper second-class (2.1) equivalent - GPA of 3.0 out of 4
