How to apply

Apply online after submitting your application for your place on your chosen course.

Applications close on 14 May 2025. We will not be able to accept applications after this time.

Eligibility

Applications are encouraged from prospective Home (UK) students of BSc Nursing or BSc Midwifery at the University of Hull, who are planning to start their studies in September 2025.

Applicants must:

  • be aged between 21 and 37 years old on 1 September 2025

and

  • have a household income of less than £25,000 per year

Household incomes are calculated by Student Finance England and shared with the University automatically when calculating entitlement to the means-tested element of the Maintenance Loan. Applicants not wishing to take out the Maintenance Loan must request that Student Finance England calculate their household income and share the figure with the University in order to be considered for the Jonathan Keen Memorial Fund.

Please note this is a competitive scholarship; not all eligible applicants will be successful.

The successful student will continue to receive the award in their second and third years of study providing they continue to engage and successfully progress to the next year of their studies.
