About this award

The Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation are offering a £10,000 scholarship to one student who will be starting an Economics degree, or a degree with a significant Economics element, at the University of Hull in September 2025. The Foundation are interested in supporting a student who has experienced some disadvantage or who is from a group underrepresented in Economics. Preference will therefore be given to candidates who have a disability, are from a low household income background, are female, or from an ethnically diverse background.

Payments will be made to the successful candidate on the following schedule:
Year One - £2,000
Year Two - £3,000
Year Three - £5,000

Eligibility

Applications are welcomed from UK Home students who have an offer to study BSc Economics, BA Business Economics, or BA Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Hull starting September 2025.

Please note this is a competitive scholarship; not all eligible applicants will be successful.

The successful student will continue to receive the award in their second and third years of study providing they continue to engage and successfully progress to the next year of their studies.
