About this award

The Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation are offering a £10,000 scholarship to one student who will be starting an Economics degree, or a degree with a significant Economics involvement, at the University of Hull in September 2023. The Foundation are keen to support a student who has experienced some disadvantage and who is from a group underrepresented in Economics. The Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation Scholarship will therefore be awarded to a student who either has a disability or a household income of less than £25,000. In the event of there being applications of similar merit, preference will be given to candidates who are female or from an ethnically diverse background. 

Payments will be made to the successful candidate on the following schedule: 
Year One - £2,000
Year Two - £3,000
Year Three - £5,000

Eligibility

Applicants must have a household income of less than £25,000 or a disability. Preference will be given to candidates who are female or from an ethnically diverse background.

Applications are welcomed from UK Home students who have an offer to study BSc Economics, BA Business Economics, or BA Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Hull starting September 2023.
