The majority of our research Masters programmes and PhDs require that you hold a qualification equivalent to an upper second-class Bachelor Honours (or 2.1), although some programmes, especially PhDs may have higher entry requirements. Please check our course pages for specific entry requirements.
We generally consider a Bachelors degree awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution in Egypt to be comparable to a UK Bachelor Honours degree.
If you hold a Bachelors degree awarded by a higher institute, we require that it is deemed comparable to a Bachelors degree awarded by an Egyptian university. You should present an official evidence of this equivalency issued by the Supreme Council of Universities.
Upper second-class (2.1) equivalent
- Overall grade of 75%
- GPA of 3.0 out of 4 from the American University of Cairo
- Overall grade of 2.3 from the German University of Cairo
- Lower second-class (2.2) awarded by the British University of Egypt
