Study Medicine at Hull
Medicine here is studied at Hull York Medical School – a partnership between the University of Hull and University of York. The Medical School is focused on delivering exceptional medical education and producing clinical and academic leaders of the future.
A different kind of medical school
Welcome to Hull York Medical School: the joint medical school of the University of Hull and University of York.
Through a unique partnership between the universities, NHS Trusts and community healthcare providers, we are focused on delivering exceptional medical education and postgraduate study.
As well as our innovative undergraduate Medicine programme, we offer a diverse range of postgraduate programmes in the fields of physician associate studies, anatomy, pharmacology, and health professions education.
Our impact goes beyond teaching and learning and extends to research, which has discovery and innovation at its heart. This research is improving the lives of patients locally and impacting national and international health agendas, in areas such as cancer research, palliative medicine, mental health and global public health.

Problem-based learning
Strong problem-solving skills are essential to providing exceptional, patient-centred care. This is why we place PBL at the heart of our curriculum.
Take a look at the facilities you’ll be using
We've invested millions into spaces where you can study and collaborate. At the heart of the University’s £28million health campus sits the award winning Allam Medical Building, home to Hull York Medical School in Hull.
Prepared for work in the NHS
We pride ourselves on producing confident, compassionate and work-ready doctors, healthcare leaders and researchers.
Our training, grounded in patient-centred care, arms our students with the knowledge they need to thrive in the NHS, and to make a real difference to the lives of their patients.

We all need a little help sometimes
We are committed to supporting students and aware that there may be occasions when you may need a little more help to make your journey that bit easier.
As well as our own dedicated student support team, our students also have access to the support services offered by our universities. These include health and wellbeing support and advice, disability support and assessments for support and adjustment, financial assistance or advice, and learning support.
