About this course

Alongside our three-year course, you can choose one of our four year options, featuring either a built-in placement year - where students have gained hands-on experience with organisations such as Centrica Group, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Limited and Sowerby’s FRS LLP - or a year studying abroad at one of our international partner universities.

Whichever route you take, you’ll benefit from CV-enhancing opportunities throughout your degree. Placements, internships, networking events, mentoring and international summer schools are all part of our Authentic Business Learning approach - a practical, real-world way of teaching that puts your future career first.

All Hull University Business School courses are accredited by AACSB, which is held by fewer than 5% of business programmes worldwide. And we’re accredited by the main accountancy bodies: ACCA (also as an Accelerate Partner), CIMA (as a University Partner), CIPFA, ICAEW (as a Partner in Learning) AIA, CFA and CPA Australia.

Throughout your course, you have access to industry-standard facilities like our Bloomberg Financial Markets Laboratory. Here, you practise trading in real time using databases like Bloomberg, Orbis and FAME. Then there’s our newly-enhanced Business Lounge - a great space for you to meet with businesses, entrepreneurs and partners, laying the foundations for your future career.

Module options

Each year, you’ll study modules worth a certain number of credits, and you need 120 credits per year. Most modules are 20 credits – so you’ll study six modules each year. Some longer modules, such as a dissertation, are worth more. In these cases, you’ll study fewer modules - but the number of credits will always add up to 120. Some modules are compulsory, some are optional, so you can build a course that’s right for you.
