Exchange students application guide

Follow this step-by-step guide for everything you need to know about applying for an inbound exchange or visiting student experience at the University of Hull.

Do your research and contact your home university

Both single-trimester and Full Year exchanges are available. Your home university international office can provide guidance support.

You get nominated!

Nomination dates are:

  • Fall (1 March - 30 April 2025)
  • Spring (1 August - 30 September 2025)

Receive your application form

Following a successful nomination, we will email you:

  • A link to our online application form
  • Information about studying at the University of Hull.

Application deadlines

  • Fall (1 April - 31 May)
  • Spring (1 September - 31 October 2025)

Choose your modules - the fun part!

You are likely to study three modules per semester. You will receive a module handbook which you can choose your modules from. View our full list of modules here, but please bear in mind they are a guide only.

Most of our modules earn you 20 credits and you may take up to 60 credits per semester. Explore our degree courses and modules to decide what suits your academic goals

Receive your email confirmation

We will email you to confirm your place at the University of Hull and with details of what to do next, including how to apply for a visa (if applicable), accommodation and arrivals information.

Apply for a visa

Depending on your country of origin, you may need a visa to study in the UK. You can check if you need a visa on the UK Government website.

We will email you with information about visa applications and UK entry documents. The information you receive will depend on the length of your study and modules you have chosen.

Book your accommodation and pay your fees (if applicable)

We will email you information about accommodation options and how to apply for University of Hull accommodation. We will also share details on how and when you need to pay your fees, if this is applicable.

On-campus accommodation is single students. There is no on-campus housing for families, and the University does not offer childcare. An independently run nursery is available on campus.
