Summary

Nicki initially completed her nurse training at the University of Hull, followed by a BSc (Hons) in Critical Care. She then took a MMedSci Advanced Nursing Practice at the University of Sheffield. She is a Principle Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a National Teaching Fellowship. Her clinical background is in intensive care and latterly critical care outreach. Nicki continues to teach and research in the area.

Nicki has held senior leadership posts within the University and at national level. She is Chair of the UK Critical Care Nursing Alliance and Fellow of the British Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is a specialist advisor to NHSE and the Department of Health . During the COVID-19 pandemic she was Director of Education for the NHS Nightingale Hospital Yorkshire and the Humber.
