Summary

Hello - my name is Luke and I am the Lecturer for Critical Care, at the University of Hull.

I teach on the Paramedic Science, Advance Practice and Post-Graduate Nursing Programmes.

Since qualifying as a registered nurse in 2006, I have always worked within Critical Care but have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of units and specialities including:

Neurosurgery & Neurology

Trauma

Cardiothoracic Surgery

Hepato-Biliary Surgery

Transplant Surgery and Medicine

Urology and Gynaecological Surgery

Haematology and Oncology

Vascular Surgery

Gastro-Intestinal Surgery

Prior to joining the University of Hull, I spent five years working as an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner (ACCP); initially at Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust and then at Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust. This role involved independent, non-medical prescribing.

I use twitter mainly to learn from other healthcare and teaching professionals. I do sometimes post and retweet resources and you are welcome to follow me @CritCareLuke.
