About Dr Mamoon Bashir
Dr Mamoon Bashir is a multi award-winning academic and Assistant Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Hull University Business School, University of Hull. Having recently completed his tenure as Graduate Research Director, he continues to contribute to teaching, research, academic leadership, and doctoral examination as an External Examiner for UK and international universities.
With over 13 years’ international experience, his expertise spans Global Logistics, International Business and Trade, Sustainable Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Digitalisation, Supply Chain Resilience, Humanitarian Logistics, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Modern Slavery in supply chains, ESG, Net Zero and decarbonisation strategies, carbon footprinting, circular economy, and responsible sourcing. His work focuses on building ethical, resilient, and sustainable global value chains.
He teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including International Trade, Global Logistics, Sustainable Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Operations Management, integrating real-world challenges such as climate change, geopolitical disruption, ethical sourcing, and digital transformation.
Dr Bashir received the Inspired in Hull Award 2022 for enhancing postgraduate student experience and was a finalist in 2023 for his “International Trade and Global Logistics” module. In 2023, he was also awarded the ‘40 under 40 Smart Bangladesh Award’ by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh.
He holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management and Digitalisation from Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia, an MSc in International Business Management from Aberystwyth University, and a PGCert in Academic Practice from the University of Hull. He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy, UK), a Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE), and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), reflecting his commitment to social impact and societal change.
He serves on the International Advisory Boards of the Canadian University of Bangladesh and Uttara University, where he also acts as an International Adviser. He has recently been appointed to the Academic Advisory Board of the Westchester University of Science and Technology (WUST), USA.
Dr Bashir sits on editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals published in the UK, USA, and Canada, and acts as a reviewer for leading international journals in supply chain and business research. He has led and contributed to funded research projects, including a £40,000 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project as Principal Investigator, supporting businesses in improving environmental performance.
Widely followed on social media, he is a recognised public voice in his field. His expert commentary has featured across media outlets including ITV, Channel 5, Daily Star, The Prestige, and Viking FM. He is also a sought-after keynote speaker, delivering talks internationally on global trade, logistics, and sustainable supply chains.
