What we do

Flood risk and resilience

Addressing flood risk and resilience globally, nationally and regionally.

A floating village

Floods are the most common natural disaster.

The climate crisis is increasing the frequency and severity of flooding events in the UK and across the world. Our team work tirelessly on research into the causes, management and mitigation of flooding, and we’re training the next generation of professionals through our pioneering MSc in Flood Risk Management.

Total environment simulator

Environmental modelling with our Total Environment Simulator

Our experimental facility, based at The Deep, is designed for modelling the movement of water and sediment under a wide range of environmental conditions.

We welcome guest researchers to use our facilities and will shortly introduce Property Flood Resilience (PFR) testing.
