University of Hull expands global reach with launch of Hull Institute in China
Teaching is underway at the brand-new Hull Institute at Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU) in China, with over 300 students enrolled on courses.
The institute offers new pathways for learning in subject areas including Business, Technology and Marketing, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Like at our Hull campus, students at CTBU will have the opportunity to apply their learning to real-world business challenges, helping them develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to thrive as freethinking future makers after graduation.
By working closely with CTBU, we can bring together the strengths of both institutions, create new opportunities for students and develop our contribution to education and business.Professor Kevin Kerrigan
Deputy Vice-Chancellor
Professor Kevin Kerrigan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Hull, said: “The Hull Institute is an important part of our ambition to build international partnerships that make a real difference.
“By working closely with CTBU, we can bring together the strengths of both institutions, create new opportunities for students and develop our contribution to education and business.
“The launch is an important milestone, and we look forward to seeing the partnership grow in the years ahead.”
The Institute’s official launch saw colleagues from the University of Hull join with representatives from CTBU, the Chinese regional government, the British Council, British Consulate-General, Hull City Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority, to celebrate this major milestone.
