Colliderfest and Hull Independent Cinema presents… Jurassic Park, with talk from Dr Jen Bright of the University of Hull
Dir Steven Spielberg | USA, Ireland | 1993 | 126 mins | Rated 12A | English
Please note the talk begins at 7.00PM with the film scheduled to start at 7.30PM.
When eccentric entrepreneur John Hammond invites two palaeontologists to visit his new dinosaur theme park on a remote island, they are astounded to discover that he has used cutting edge genetic techniques to bring dinosaurs back to life. But when a disgruntled park employee shuts down the power supply in an act of corporate sabotage, vicious predators such as velociraptors and tyrannosaurus rex escape. With Hammond’s two young grandchildren also caught up in events, and as a fierce storm hits the island, a fight to restore power, evade the predators and escape with their lives ensues.
We’re super excited to bring this ground-breaking blockbuster back to the big screen in partnership with Colliderfest, Hull’s festival of science, arts and ideas. The screening will be preceded by a talk by Dr Jen Bright, Lecturer in Zoology at the University of Hull, about some of the scientific issues raised by the film.
Starring Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Richard Attenborough, Jeff Goldblum

Subtitles
This film will be presented with Descriptive Subtitles. In addition to reproducing dialogue, these subtitles include additional non-dialogue sounds available to a hearing audience, e.g. "(sighs)" or "(door creaks)" and song lyrics. In our experience, guests do not find the subtitles distracting, especially as the majority of our films are subtitled foreign language films. Hull Independent Cinema is working towards making our films more accessible. We have decided to present all our films with Descriptive Subtitles where available.

JURASSIC PARK is rated 12. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, please see the film's page on the BBFC website.
