Here at Hull, you don't just study Law - you get hands-on.
You'll get the chance to provide real legal advice to real clients at our Legal Advice Centre and our recently enhanced Mediation Centre.
And you can hone your debating skills in two mock law courts: one for family and civil matters, as well as a brand-new criminal courtroom.
Bring order to the court
Our new state-of-the-art court allows you to bring the courtroom to life right here on campus. We have mock law courts for family and civil matters, as well as a brand-new criminal courtroom. Our latest mock-law court features a dock for ‘the accused’, witness box, jury area, public gallery, and Judge’s chamber, so you can experience exactly what it’s like to take part in formal legal proceedings.
Use the separate judge’s chamber to pull on your robes, don your wig and gown, and use your gavel to keep order. Or take your place in the jury, the public gallery, amongst the prosecution, or in the witness box as part of mock trials to practice your skills and prepare for your future career.
You. Real clients. Real advice.
If you want to make it as a lawyer, you’ll need as much hands-on experience as you can get. And if you can get it before you graduate, even better.
That’s exactly what our Legal Advice Centre and Mediation Centre give you.
You could help parents regain contact with their children. Advise clients on divorce, property and employment rights. Assist with appeals against benefits decisions. So far, our Legal Advice Centre and Mediation Centre have helped more than 1,000 people. This is your chance to make a huge difference to people’s lives and get a head start over other graduates.
