FBLP - Law - Mock Law Courtroom-2195

Mock courtroom

At Hull, we don’t just say – we do. And our new state-of-the-art court allows you to bring the courtroom to life right here on campus. Use the separate judge’s chamber to pull on your robes, don your wig and gown, and use your gavel to keep order. Or take your place in the jury, the public gallery, amongst the prosecution or in the witness box as part of mock trials to practice your skills and prepare for your future career.

The Brynmor Jones Library

The £28-million Brynmor Jones Library is a state-of-the-art learning space. It's got 350 open-access PCs, 48 laptops available to borrow, multifunction printers, scanners and photocopiers, and self-service issuing facilities. The library is now open 24 hours a day - so you can do whatever you need to do, whenever you need to do it. There's super-fast WiFi in the library - and all across campus, for that matter - and it also houses a laid-back café, an art gallery, a rare book collection and a stunning seventh-floor observatory.

Break-Out Areas

There are plenty of innovative spaces all over the campus that allow you to work in creative ways. For example, the break-out area in the Larkin Building is the ideal space if you want to work in comfort and style. It's got large flat-screen monitors (ideal for presenting work to a group), USB chargers, connectors to hook up your phone, tablet or laptop, and comfortable seating. And it's just around the corner from the brand new Arts Café, so you can quickly grab a coffee or brain food.

Computer Suites on Campus

You'll have no worries when it comes to finding a PC on campus. Whatever time, day or night, there are more than 500 open-access PCs available, with many housed in our 24-hour computer centres in the Larkin Building. They're even available over bank holidays and the Christmas break. All you need is your student card to gain access.

Campus Cafés

There's an array of cafés on campus offering hot and cold food, quick snacks and a wide range of hot drinks. The Derwent Café, Library Café, Zucchinis and the Arts Café – as well several other on-campus eateries – mean that whether you're rushing to grab a coffee or looking to sit back, relax and unwind with friends, you'll never be far away from somewhere to go ahead and treat yourself.
