The Faculty of Health Sciences stretches existing boundaries of knowledge and innovation in health sciences and drives improvements in societal health and wellbeing. Our community support a culture of research excellence, collaboration across disciplines, inclusivity, empowerment and progressiveness.

Schools and disciplines

Together, our Schools conduct world-leading research tackling national and global challenges. We bring this passion and experience back to our students through a thriving portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD courses.

The School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences researches injury prevention, rehabilitation, digital tech and AI.

Hull York Medical School (HYMS) ensures people have access to the best possible care. Our teaching spans Medicine, Biomedical and Forensic Sciences, Clinical Anatomy, Pharmacology, Health Professions Education and Medical Sciences.

Research

Research in the Faculty of Health Sciences is transforming lives. We’re developing the therapies of tomorrow, designing new treatments for patients, and reducing inequalities to provide access to care for all.

Our research community is revolutionising the treatment of wounds, enhancing end-of-life and palliative care, and enabling high performance sport. We’re transforming the diagnosis of cancer and endometriosis and undertaking vital research into addiction and mental health.

Facilities

The £28-million Allam Medical Building is our home for healthcare professionals of the future. Equipped with a simulated hospital ward, operating theatre, ambulance simulator, neonatal ward, birthing unit, intensive care unit, and resuscitation unit.
