About the department

Our vibrant and interdisciplinary department delivers high-quality and professional education and research.

We have strong links with national, local and regional agencies. Our exciting range of contemporary professional programmes consists of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the Clinical Psychology Doctoral programme, MSc Dementia (Online), MA and BA in Social Work, BSc Nursing (Learning Disability) and BSc Nursing (Mental Health).

Our portfolio also includes a suite of apprenticeships: the BA Social Work Degree Apprenticeship; BSc Nursing (Learning Disability) Apprenticeship, BScNursing (Mental Health) Apprenticeship and the MSc Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP).

Life changing work placements

Chose from a diverse range of professional practice placements, including drug and alcohol projects, sexual health education, homelessness projects, school inclusion, and projects to tackle child sexual exploitation.

Flexible study, delivered digitally

MSc in Dementia is delivered entirely online, with three start dates each year. Critically challenge common perceptions and learn what it means to live well with dementia.

Research

Our research brings together expertise and specialisms across clinical psychology, social work, mental health nursing and learning disability nursing.

We're founder members of the Humber Social Work Teaching Partnership, giving you access to local employers of social work practitioners. 
Develop the skills to work with adults, children and young people in a range of circumstances and learn how to safeguard and protect people where required.
This programme is accredited by Social Work England which means you can apply to register as a qualified social worker on graduation.
