Undergraduate fees

How can
we help?

OK, so sorting your finances out won't be the most exciting part of your degree, but it is important. And once you've got this checked off, you can get on with the interesting stuff!

If you're interested in Postgraduate fees, head this way...

How much does it cost?

For 2023/24, our undergraduate tuition fees are £9,250 per year*, a year abroad is charged at £1,385, and a year in industry is £1,850. Be sure to double-check your course page because some programmes vary slightly.

Remember, you won't start paying your fees back until you've left University and earn above the repayment threshold (currently £27,295). In the meantime, you can apply for a maintenance loan to help cover your living costs.

If that wasn't enough, you'll be living in one of the UK's most affordable cities. Take a look and see how much you can save on those important essentials like gym membership and your daily caffeine fix.

* This fee is subject to an increase in line with inflation. Maximum tuition fees are set by the government.

How do I pay?

If you've applied for a tuition fee loan from Student Finance England - don't worry - you don't need to pay your fees yourself.

Arrangements are slightly different if you’re from WalesNorthern IrelandScotlandGuernseyJersey or the Isle of Man

Enrolled students can pay online by visiting the MyHull portal.

Cash payments

Cash payments are not accepted by the University for tuition or accommodation fees. Cash deposited directly into our bank account will also not be accepted.

Update or change your debit/credit card details

Unlike Direct Debits, the RCP (Recurring Card Payment) instalment plan uses your debit/credit card details to take your payments. If you change your card, or receive a new card, you will need to update your details to ensure that your payment plan will not be interrupted.

Update debit/credit card details

You will need to enter the card holder’s email address and click authenticate, after which you will be sent an email containing a secure link to where you will be able to enter your new card details. If you have any questions, please contact Student Financial Services on 01482 462222.

Please note:

  • The University of Hull will never send direct links asking for you to provide your debit or credit card details. The card update link will only ever be sent by request of the payer.
  • You should never email your debit or credit card details to anyone. If we receive any card information via email we will delete all correspondence immediately and will be unable to update your details.

You can pay your fees by debit/credit card by visiting the MyHull portal.

When do I pay?

If you've applied for a tuition fee loan, don't worry - we'll sort it.

If you're paying your fees yourself and have UK bank account, you can set up a Direct Debit by visiting MyHull. We'll send you an advance notification with a payment schedule.
