Shaped by a century-old engagement with society, the University of Hull is the intellectual epicentre of a one-of-a-kind region. A region that keeps evolving – and now a proving ground for answers to many of the big challenges facing our country and the world.
Through hands-on collaboration, we examine the defining issues of our time. From renewable energy and flood resilience, to wound care and mental health, to knife crime and modern slavery. Creating new thinking and launching new endeavours to change individual lives and humanity’s shared future.

Founded in 1927 as a ‘centre of light and culture’, the University has been leading in growing Hull for nearly 100 years. Contributing to education, research and knowledge exchange, as well as the social, economic and cultural fabric of our region. We’ll continue this work into the next century and beyond.
