Support for your teaching

The Skills Team can help you deliver academic study skills directly in your curriculum or provide the support materials for you to integrate or deliver yourself. If you are interested in discussing any part of our offering, please email skills@hull.ac.uk and we will arrange a meeting to discuss further.

Are you looking for skills support for your module?

Complete this checklist and we will let you know what resources or teaching we can offer to support your students with developing key skills and completing their assignments.

There are also several methods in which we can support you:

Direct support

The Skills Team are happy to provide some direct teaching, integrated into your curriculum, if you feel our expertise will add value to your provision. This can be a member of our team delivering a session independently or working with faculty staff to co-deliver a more disciplinary-specific session together. These sessions can be requested via central timetabling once agreed. 

Resources for self-delivery

We support your delivery of skills-related content through providing and contextualising session plans, online content, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and handouts. This can include help to develop bespoke resources for taught sessions. 

Online support

We provide access to a wide range of ready-made learning resources (see links below) that can be linked to or embedded in your Canvas courses - see this video for how to integrate in Canvas).

We can also work with you to adapt and tailor our online learning resources to include disciplinary examples and/or context. These require additional development time compared to the resources below.
