Netball stars visit University of Hull for Vitality Netball Super League tie

Some of the country’s top netball players are visiting the University of Hull for a crunch tie in the Vitality Netball Super League.

Leeds Rhinos Netball will face Strathclyde Sirens on Monday 11 April, hosted at the University’s Allam Sports Centre.

Since being founded 2005, the Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) has been the UK’s top-level, elite netball competition featuring eleven teams from England, Wales and Scotland.

The first 20 rounds of the regular season run during the first half of the calendar year and culminates in Semi-Finals and a Grand Final to determine the league champions.

Steve Curtis, Head of Sport at the University of Hull, said: “Bringing top-level, elite netball to Hull is the latest in a series of prestigious sporting events to be held at the University.

It builds on our recent hosting of the Allam British Open Squash Championships and the British Chess Championships, and strengthens the University and Hull’s reputation as a venue for professional sport.

“We look forward to welcoming Leeds Rhinos and Strathclyde Sirens, and wish them both the best of luck in the game.”

The Vitality Netball Superleague was won last season by Loughborough Lightning.
