Team GB Rugby Olympian Daniel Bibby to attend University of Hull Open Day

Team GB rugby sevens star and Olympic silver medallist Daniel Bibby will be joining prospective students at the University of Hull’s November Open Day.

Daniel is the latest Team GB athlete to be visiting the University campus, with three-time gold medallist Max Whitlock also confirmed for November.

Daniel said: “I have very fond memories of my time at university. It’s how I made it into professional rugby and as a result it’s an experience that has empowered me to become a two-time Olympic athlete.

I am really excited to be joining students at the University of Hull’s Open Day and to speak about my higher education experience as well as my career and journey to the Olympic Games including Rio 2016 and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The fly-half, who helped Team GB secure silver in their Rio 2016 Olympic debut, will be attending welcome talks throughout the day as a guest speaker and will be seen around key locations on campus.

Anja Hazebroek, Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing, said: “We are really excited to welcome Daniel Bibby to campus and involve him in our Open Day activities. We hope prospective students will be inspired by his incredible story from university student to Olympic athlete.

The University of Hull can help students find their own extraordinary story and by attending our Open Day we can showcase everything we have to offer so they feel ready to start their journey to an exciting future.
