BSc Financial Management programme gains affiliation with industry leader CFA

The University of Hull’s BSc Financial Management degree has gained key accreditation with a world-leading name in the industry.

BSc Financial Management has joined the CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme – a mark of courses which are best-suited at preparing students for crucial industry examinations.

CFA Institute is the world's largest association of investment professionals. For the University of Hull to receive affiliation for its BSc Financial Management course, is a huge coup.

Dr Thanos Andrikopoulos, Programme Director of BSc Financial Management at University of Hull, said: “Gaining affiliation with the CFA Institute is a true testament to the dedication and commitment of academic staff and colleagues in the Business School.

“We know that the BSc Financial Management course is tailored to ensure students graduating from Hull are perfectly placed to join the financial sector, sit crucial industry exams, and progress in their careers.

“To have this recognised by the CFA Institute – a global leader in the finance industry – is both rewarding and humbling in equal measure.”

The BSc Financial Management degree gives students the opportunity to study under staff with real-world experience, as well as academics at the forefront of research.

Students on the course develop an in-depth understanding of the roles of the financial managers and analysts who deal with vast sums of money worldwide.

They also have access to Bloomberg Financial Markets Laboratory, which simulates financial trading activities in real time.

Through the new CFA affiliation, the BSc Financial Management programme is also eligible to receive a limited number of student scholarships for the CFA Program each year.

The CFA Programme sets a standard for developing the skills, standards, competence, and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers, investment advisers, and other investment professionals worldwide.

It is widely considered the investment profession’s most rigorous credentialing programme.

The CFA Institute has more than 176,000 members in 166 countries and territories, including 164,000 CFA charterholders.

Established in August 1999, Hull University Business School is a leading UK business school with internationally-recognised accreditations from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
