Join us in celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month 2024. This year the theme is Medicine – #UnderTheScope. The 2024 theme celebrates LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to the field of Medicine and Healthcare both historically and today, we also encourage you to look ‘Under the Scope’ and listen to LGBT+ peoples’ lived experiences from LGBT+ people.
Our events this year are brought to you by three university areas: our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team, the Wilberforce Institute for the study of Slavery and Emancipation and the Hull University Students Union (HUSU).
- Our EDI team are at the forefront of the University of Hull's commitment to promoting equality of opportunity for all, giving every individual the chance to achieve their potential, free from prejudice and discrimination.
- The University and Students’ Union are committed to social justice, diversity and inclusion and welcome the opportunity to encourage staff and students to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month and be agents of change.
- The LGBTQ+ Staff network are excited to get involved in LGBTQ+ History Month, not only to promote the network, but to increase awareness of LGBTQ+ identities and lived experience.
