Join us on 7th March for a special guest talk from Judi Heaton, who has recently retired following an impressive career with Humberside Police. Judi will be speaking on the topic of the ‘Glass Ceiling’ and her experiences as a female leader in a male dominated career. Judi will then be joined by fellow female speakers to form a panel discussion on the subject.

The School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences is pleased to invite you to a guest lecture by Megan Pleasants. She will be discussing what it’s like working in elite sport, where only 30% of staff are women. Where: Larking Lecture Theatre D, When: Tuesday 7th March at 2-3 pm

The School of Politics and International Studies have organised a one day conference on "International Women's Day" 2023 in order to enhance the academic and research discourse on women's rights. For International Women’s Day, four inspiring researchers from the Wilberforce Institute (Dr Alicia Heys, Dr Judith Spicksley, Dr Cassanda Gooptar, Dr Zahra Shirgholami) talk about their work to understand and tackle slavery and fight for social justice.

Throughout the month of March there will be resources on display in the reading room which showcase some amazing books and journals that have been written by women. There will also be a selection of films and documentaries available on Kanopy.

The staff focused program aims to empower women, providing more opportunities for them to upskill, develop and break barriers into certain industry. The ‘Women Leadership Accelerator Programme’ is fully funded and aimed at women moving into management positions or those with aspirations for senior management roles.

The session will be delivered by programme leader, Tracey Heath and will provide insight into the programme content and how we can #EmbraceEquity by empowering women to learn new skills and gain an accredited CMI qualification in Leadership & Management.

Our Gender Pay Gap report will be published on the 31st March 2023. We wanted to highlight main theme's of the report and showcase our next steps to creating a truly inclusive environment for all. Coming Soon...
