The Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation Scholarship supports undergraduate Economics students with a low household income or disability.
About this award
The Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation are offering a £10,000 scholarship to one student who will be starting an Economics degree, or a degree with a significant Economics element, at the University of Hull. The Foundation are interested in supporting a student who has experienced some disadvantage or who is from a group underrepresented in Economics.
How to apply
Please apply online before the 28th August 2025, for degrees starting in 2025.
Applications are welcomed from UK Home students who have an offer to study BSc Economics, BA Business Economics, or BA Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Hull.
Please note this is a competitive scholarship; not all eligible applicants will be successful.
The successful student will continue to receive the award in their second and third years of study providing they continue to engage and successfully progress to the next year of their studies.
Payments will be made to the successful candidate on the following schedule:
- Year One - £2,000
- Year Two - £3,000
- Year Three - £5,000
The Foundation are interested in supporting a student who has experienced some disadvantage or who is from a group underrepresented in Economics. Preference will therefore be given to candidates who have a disability, are from a low household income background, are female, or from an ethnically diverse background.
