About this course
This module will build on previous knowledge and experience of the care of the healthy neonate and the role of the midwife in promoting independent family life.
The aim of the module is to support students to identify factors that predispose the neonate to ill health, recognise deviations from normal health status, and to initiate appropriate monitoring, care and referral for the compromised or sick neonate.

Duration of the module
The course takes approximately 12 months to complete on a part-time basis. This module is delivered using a blended approach, with four face-to-face teaching days followed by a series of e-learning and module supervision delivered online.
