About this course

This 20-credit Level 7 module prepares registered healthcare professionals to become Professional Advocates (PAs), Professional Nurse Advocates (PNAs) or Professional Midwifery Advocates (PMAs), supporting and leading the healthcare workforce of the future.

Delivered entirely online over 10 weeks, the programme combines live webinars, online discussion activities and directed study to help you develop advanced leadership and advocacy skills while fitting study around professional and personal commitments.

The course is underpinned by the NHS A-EQUIP (Advocating and Educating for Quality Improvement) model, which forms the foundation of the PA, PNA and PMA roles. You'll explore the four functions of the model: formative, normative and restorative practice, alongside personal action for quality improvement. These approaches help build professional resilience, improve quality of care and support professional revalidation.

Who is this course for?
